Discover spectacular karst landscapes and megalithic temples: travel through time to prehistoric Andalusia on this guided tour of the Antequera Dolmens.
Meet your guide in the heart of Antequera city centre, ready to begin your guided tour of the Antequera Dolmens and El Torcal.
The first stop on your excursion will be at the El Romeral dolmen or tholos, an impressive stone construction typical of the prehistoric Mediterranean region. Inside, we'll find a dome on top of tiers, typical of the prehistoric Mediterranean tradition.
Then, you'll be taken to the Antequera Dolmens of Menga and Viera, which are considered to be among the most important megalithic structures in Europe. Accompanied by your guide, you'll explore these prehistoric temples and burial grounds, discovering how, when and why they were built.
On our tour, we'll also visit the Torcal de Antequera, an impressive natural site of karstic rock formations. There, we'll take a guided tour of the highlights and see some trace fossils of marine life that populated the area in Jurassic times.
We'll also be lucky enough to see some of the inhabitants of the area, such as the famous goats, as well as enjoy incredible panoramic viewpoints.
Finally, you'll return to the centre of Antequera.
