Medina Azahara is located 4.97 mi (8 km) west of Córdoba, in the foothills of the Sierra Morena mountain range. Therefore, to access the archaeological site, you need to travel by car.
By booking this bus transfer from the city center, you'll avoid worrying about how to get to Medina Azahara. The bus takes just 20 minutes from Córdoba to the reception center of the monumental complex.
During the booking process, you must choose one of the following pickup points:
The bus operates from Tuesday to Sunday at 10 am and 10:45 am. Depending on the departing time you choose, please keep in mind the following return times:
Visiting Medina Azahara is a fascinating experience that will transport you to the golden age of the Emirate of Córdoba. Although lesser known than the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, it offers a unique and complementary perspective on the city's history. You'll imagine the luxurious life and the strict protocol followed at court when you see the remains of its palaces, gardens, and structures. As you explore its ruins, you'll admire its sophisticated urban planning, a milestone of the Caliphate architecture.
Although it's possible to visit Medina Azahara at your own pace, we recommend a guided tour to learn about its history in full detail.
You can book up to 12 hours in advance if there are any seats left. Book now and guarantee your spot.
