Be spirited away by the Portuguese melodies with this fado show in the Chiado neighbourhood; one of the most popular areas in the centre of Lisbon.
In the words of Portuguese fado singer, Amalia Rodrigues, "the only thing that matters is to feel the fado. The fado is not meant to be sung; it simply happens". Fado music takes your emotions on a unique journey, making for an unforgettable experience.
The 50 minute-long show at the Fado in Chiado venue will take your breath away with the strumming of Portuguese guitars and the vocals of the fado singers, whose voices passionately bring the lyrics to life. These melodies deal with topics such as "saudade" or nostalgia, melancholy, love, falling out of love, and tales of the sea. This is an extraordinary experience that will leave you lost for words. In addition, during the show, images of Lisbon are projected onto the stage, giving the sensation of flying over the Portuguese capital.
Fado in Chiado is a concert hall located in the Lisbon neighbourhood of the same name. It's been holding shows for 15 years! The Portuguese fado singers take to the stage and captivate the audience with their meaningful, melancholic vocals, accompanied in perfect symphony by typical Portuguese guitars.
With your booking you'll be able to enjoy an unforgettable fado music performance; an art listed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Children under 4 years old can attend the show free of charge, but if there are no seats available, they must sit on their parents' lap.
