With these tickets to the Mallorca Railway Museum in Son Carrió, you'll enjoy an immersive journey back to the 19th century with simulators, holograms, and real carriages. A perfect plan for the whole family!
Ever imagined travelling back in time to the origins of the railway in the Balearic Islands? Located in the historic town of Son Carrió, the Mallorca Railway Museum is a cultural experience where industrial heritage, technology, and entertainment come together to surprise visitors of all ages.
Through an innovative staging that includes real carriages, immersive projections, holograms, and sound, light, and steam effects, this ticket lets you relive the first railway journeys that transformed Mallorcan society in the 19th century.
After years of meticulous planning, the railway became a reality in 1875 with the inauguration of the first line between Palma and Inca, funded entirely with Mallorcan capital. This unprecedented success drove the rapid expansion of the network toward Manacor, Sa Pobla, and Felanitx, reaching its peak in 1920 with over 280 kilometers (174 miles) of track.
After a severe decline in the mid-20th century with the arrival of the automobile and the closure of several sections, a wave of public demand led to the creation of the public company Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) in 1994. This museum celebrates that revival and the valuable rescue of the island's industrial heritage, which today is committed to electrification and sustainable mobility.
Your visit also includes an audio guide in English so you don't miss a single detail. Ideal for history lovers!
