2-Day Hike Details
Day 1: Marrakech - Tizi Oussem
Ready to explore one of the most beautiful natural areas in Morocco? Pack your hiking shoes and sticks and let's go! At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of Hotel Islane, in Marrakech, to set off to Imlil.
During the journey, we'll cross the small Moroccan towns of Tahanaout, Oued Ghighaya, and Asni, enjoying a first glimpse of what awaits us in the Atlas Mountains. Once we reach Imlil, 40 miles (65 kilometers) from Marrakech, we'll begin our hiking route. The adventure starts!
We'll start our hike toward the Tizi Mzik trail in the Toubkal National Park. As we ascend to an altitude of 8,805 feet (2,684 meters), you'll see the spectacular scenic views of the mountains, as well as the different Berber towns that we'll see along the way.
Halfway through the route, we'll stop to admire the Tamsoult Waterfall, the mountain's largest waterfall. They're 328 feet (100 meters) tall! After enjoying this natural spectacle, we'll have a local lunch and continue our hiking route to the town of Tizi Oussem.
In this small town in the Atlas Mountains, we'll stay at a mountain lodge where you can have dinner and rest for the next day.
