I recommend booking your own flights to the islands, as this tour doesn't include much else. The worst part is that they didn't stick to the agreed-upon schedule. We were supposed to have 2.5 hours at Vulcano, but without any explanation, they announced we'd only have 90 minutes, so I couldn't climb the volcano. They also waste time showing the islands from the shore with an explanation that's hard to understand due to the loudspeakers, time that was also taken away from my island visit.

The truth is that to start with the Civitatis departure time is 8.45 and they ask you to be 45 minutes before at the meeting point, which is a mediating agency that gives you the tickets and…surprise, the departure is 9.30 so you have to get up early to wait at the port which wasn't even open. The translation is poor, everything is in Italian and they translated three sentences into English so at least that could be improved. And there was no room for everyone to sit on the ferry, which is worth mentioning for what it costs. The rest is fine, they take you to the islands.

I found the activity to be a bit bland: They ask you to be punctual upon arrival and they have you waiting 45 minutes on a boat in the sun. You can't hear the comments from the boat's speakers. The stay in Lipari is of little interest, I suppose it's set up so that you hire another service there. It's a simply correct activity and little more. Opinion translated. Show original.

Translate this opinion into English.

The experience was perfect! The punctual boats and the very pleasant service. To put a hitch, I think there were a lot of people, so it made it difficult to listen to the explanations (which they did perfectly in Italian, English, French and German), so the didactic part is lost a bit. However, to see the two islands (a part of them) in 8 hours, it is more than enough. Opinion translated. Show original.

We had a great experience with the agency. They were punctual with the schedules and detailed in their explanations. The only downside: the tour was supposed to include an aperitif (malvasia and typical cookies) along the route between the volcano and Lipari, but it didn’t happen. This flaw was forgiven as the crew spotted a sperm whale during the trip and slowed down for us to admire it, and additionally, on the return trip, they took a scenic tour among the islands (faraglioni, etc.).

It did not meet our expectations, since other excursions that we have booked around the world with Civitatis have been satisfactory. In this case they limit themselves to taking you from Milazzo to Lipari and from there to Vulcano and back. We left 1 hour and 20 minutes later on a crowded boat, without seats for everyone. Journey of an hour and a half and a stay of 2 hours and a half in Lípari and 1 hour 45 minutes in Vulcano. As an example, the Ferry costs half and makes the same journey, spending more time on the islands.
