Visit the famous Eagle's Nest, the residence used by Hitler to meet with Nazi leaders, and immerse yourself in world history as you enjoy the surrounding areas.
Eagle’s Nest Day Trip
We'll gather at the designated time at Hubert-Sattler-Gasse and hop on a bus to travel south towards the German border, leaving Salzburg behind. During the one-hour journey, we'll traverse the Bavarian Alps and marvel at the stunning landscapes.
Upon arrival, we'll head into the Eagle's Nest, situated at an altitude of 1820 meters (6,000 feet). The construction of this place was a gift from the Nazi party to celebrate Hitler's 50th birthday.
We'll access the Kehlsteinhaus by passing through the mountain-side tunnels until we reach the brass elevator that took Nazi and international leaders to meet with the Führer. It's pretty spine-tingling.
As we explore the rooms of the complex, our guide will enlighten us on the impact of the meetings held in the Eagle's Nest during World War II. We'll also admire the magnificent views of the cliffs from the complex, a truly unique combination of history and immersion in nature.
Before heading back to Salzburg, we'll make a stop in the German town of Berchtesgaden. You'll have around 30 minutes of free time to wander around this charming town.
After a 4.5-hour tour, we'll return to our starting point and bid adieu.
