Welcome to the most beautiful and comfortable home in Southern California! At least that's how businessman Thomas Whaley described it when he began construction in May 1856. This ticket to the Whaley House offers you the chance to explore this home that has become a true representative of 19th-century architecture in San Diego.
During your visit, you'll admire the rooms of this house contemplating its exquisite period decoration. Mahogany furniture, Brussels carpets, musical instruments, antique photographs, and many other interesting objects will be present.
Also, you'll discover many details about the Whaley's, a Scotch-Irish family that emigrated to Massachusetts in 1722. Why did they move to San Diego? Is it true that they were part of the Boston Tea Party and the War of 1812? Let's find out!
It's not all roses, however. You'll also learn about the dark past of this land and the tragic deaths that have taken place here. Is Whaley House also the most terrifying haunted house in the United States? Judge for yourselves!
