On this private tour of the Cathedral of Santiago, you'll discover the wonders of one of the most important churches in Spain with a guide exclusively for you.
We'll meet at the Obradoiro square at the indicated time and start this private tour of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Let's get going!
The first point we'll visit will be the museum, where we'll discover the ancient ruins of the Cathedral of Santiago. Are you ready to take a trip back in time to the 9th century? We'll explain to you why from this time onwards the temple became increasingly important, becoming one of the largest pilgrimage centres in the whole of Christianity.
Next stop? The library of the Cathedral, where we'll learn about the case of the Codex Calixtinus, a priceless bibliographical jewel that suffered an attempted theft. Did you know that this text is known as the first travel guide in history?
Next, we'll take a guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral of Santiago. We'll go in-depth through its chapels and we'll analyse the High Altar, the organs, and its famous botafumeiro. Do you know when it is used and what for? We'll tell you all about it!
We'll continue walking around the Cathedral to find out what is so special about La Corticela and, of course, we'll visit the tomb of Santiago Apostle.
Two hours later we'll finish the private tour of the Cathedral of Santiago again in the Obradoiro square.
By booking a private tour of the Cathedral of Santiago you'll have an English-speaking guide just for your group. Moreover, if you are a large group, you'll save money!
You can book up to 1 day in advance if there are any seats left. Book now and guarantee your spot.
