Are you planning to travel to Santorini from Athens, or the other way around, stress free? Then taking the ferry is your best option. During the booking process, you’ll be able to choose whether you prefer the Athens–Santorini route or the reverse, as well as the corresponding schedules, depending on what best fits your plans.
With this ticket, you’ll have direct access to the boarding pier without having to go through the long ticket office queues. The sailing between the 2 destinations lasts between 5 and 5.5 hours, so you’ll be able to enjoy a panoramic crossing of the Aegean Sea.
This volcanic island, famous for its iconic white houses with blue domes clinging to steep cliffs, will captivate you with its unique beauty and dreamlike atmosphere. As you explore its villages perched above the caldera, you’ll feel transported into a storybook setting.
You shouldn’t miss a stroll through the winding streets of Fira, the island’s capital, filled with shops, jewelry stores, and restaurants offering spectacular views. The village of Oia, located at the northern tip of the island, is world-famous for its sunsets, when the sun paints the sky in orange and pink tones as it sinks into the Aegean horizon.
If you’d like to discover the island’s volcanic sand beaches, we recommend visiting Red Beach or Black Beach, both ideal for swimming in crystal-clear waters. You can also take advantage of your stay to go on a cruise around the Santorini Caldera or visit the volcano of Nea Kameni and its hot springs.
In Athens, you should prepare your senses for a full immersion in the history and culture that shaped the Western world. As you wander through its ancient hills and lively neighborhoods, you’ll encounter traces of past civilizations on every corner.
A must-see site is the Acropolis, home to temples such as the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, and the Propylaea. Very close by, you can visit the Acropolis Museum, which houses treasures recovered from this sacred site. At the foot of the Acropolis, we recommend walking through the charming Plaka neighborhood, where you can enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in one of its tavernas.
You can also use your time in the Greek capital to visit the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held, or the Temple of Olympian Zeus, whose columns still rise impressively. In addition, the Monastiraki district offers a particularly distinctive bohemian atmosphere.
