In the heart of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, there is a museum housed in an 18th-century building built on the ruins of a Roman temple, where art, tradition, and flamenco come together. This is the Museum of Flamenco Dance in Seville, founded by the renowned dancer Cristina Hoyos. The museum offers a journey through the roots of flamenco and its evolution over time.
Its interactive rooms showcase costumes worn by legendary dancers, as well as instruments and artworks from various disciplines and regions around the world. One of the spaces features a screen that immerses visitors in the passionate movements of a flamenco choreography, bringing the art form to life.
You can't miss the basement, one of the most unique corners of the Museum of Flamenco Dance. This space, shaped by a vault that preserves remnants of the ancient Roman temple, serves as the venue for flamenco shows and events organized by the museum
Finally, don't forget to visit the gift store, where you'll be delighted by a selection of handcrafted products!
