If you want to admire Vienna from a unique perspective, then you can't miss climbing on its legendary giant Ferris wheel, one of the symbols of the city, part of the Prater amusement park. Plus, you can access the Ferris wheel of Vienna at any moment within its opening times.
Inaugurated in 1897 and standing at 213 ft (65 m) tall, the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel is the oldest in the world that is still operating. It was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I.
More than a simple attraction, the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel is a true journey to the past of the Austrian capital. With your ticket, you can climb into its pods and enjoy a lovely ride that lasts between 10 and 15 minutes, where you'll admire all the details of the urban landscape.
From up high, you'll have a spectacular scenic view, including the Danube River, the forests of Vienna, and the majestic St. Stephen's Cathedral. Plus, you'll be riding in the same Ferris wheel that was the stage for classic movies like The Third Man, which has witnessed more than a century of Austrian history.
As if that wasn't enough, your ticket includes access to the Vienna Panorama Museum, an exhibition that covers 2000 years of the city's history and anecdotes about Prater on the same grounds as the Ferris wheel. You'll love it!
Although during the booking process, you'll select a day and time, you can access the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel at any time within its opening times. The Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel opens daily at the following times:
