Discover mussel farming in Villanueva de Arosa while you take a cruise along the estuary. You'll sample this delicacy and visit a Galician batea.
At the selected time, we'll meet at the port of Villanueva de Arosa and embark on the catamaran that will take us through the Arosa estuary. Did you know that it's the largest in Galicia?
As we sail along the estuary, we'll pass by the rafts that dot Arosa. Following the guide's explanations, you'll learn how these mussel, oyster, and scallop farms work. In addition, you'll be aware of the vital role played by fishing, aquaculture, and shellfish farming in Galicia.
During the boat trip along the estuary, you'll taste steamed mussels accompanied by water, wine, or soft drinks. Mussels are a fundamental component of Galician cuisine and are present in a multitude of dishes – they are a delicacy!
After sampling this treat for the senses, you can go down to the bottom of the boat to look at its underwater vision panels. Through these windows, you'll witness first-hand the fantastic sea wildlife of the Arosa estuary.
Finally, we'll return to the port and put an end to the tour after a 75-minute cruise along the Arosa estuary.
You can book up to 9 hours in advance if there are any seats left. Book now and guarantee your spot.
