Ascend comfortably and quickly up to one of the most beautiful mountains in the Swiss Alps with this Cogwheel train ticket to Mount Pilatus!
This train ticket will give you a full day of access to the Cogwheel train that goes up to Mount Pilatus. This mountain in the Swiss Alps is located at 2132 meters (7,000 feet) above sea level and is positioned at a strategic point, as it marks the border between the cantons of Lucerne, Nidwalden, and Obwalden.
To climb Mount Pilatus from Alpnach, go to the following address: Brüningstrasse 2, where you can board the world's steepest Cogwheel railway, which has a section with a gradient of 48%!
In just 30 minutes, this rack railway will take you up to the Pilatus Kulm station. You'll enjoy an incredible journey through beautiful meadows and alpine forests that will absolutely take your breath away.
Once you reach the Pilatus station, you'll be able to hang out and enjoy the view from the lookout point. There is also a panoramic restaurant with magnificent views of the Alps.
At the following link, you can check the schedule for the ride to and from Mount Pilatus:
If you wish to go during the winter season, we recommend checking out this ticket to the Mount Pilatus cable car from Kriens.
Due to maintenance work on the cable cars, only the rack railway (Alpnachstad) will be in operation until November 27, 2026.
