The cave paintings of Lascaux, located in the Périgord region, are known as the Sistine Chapel of prehistoric art due to the exceptional quality of their ancient paintings.
The original cave, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a true marvel. However, it’s been closed to the public since 1963 to help preserve its artwork.
With your ticket to the Lascaux IV International Center for Cave Art, you’ll discover the incredible prehistoric art that this area of France is famous for. The visit is divided into two parts. First, you’ll spend an hour exploring a precise replica of the Lascaux Cave with either a guide or an audio guide, depending on the option you select.
This faithful reproduction, which mirrors every detail of the original site, lets you admire one of the world’s most important archaeological treasures, featuring hundreds of prehistoric paintings and engravings.
