Be captivated by the traditional music of Coimbra by enjoying this show at Fado ao Centro, one of the main concert venues in the historic centre.
Located at Rua de Quebra Costas, just a 5-minute walk from the Old Cathedral, the Fado ao Centro is one of the best places to attend a fado concert in Coimbra. This is a different type of Fado from that performed in the rest of Portugal, as it is closely linked to its University.
Unlike Lisbon or Porto, for example, Coimbra Fado was born in academic circles, thanks especially to the impulse of young university students. As a result, it's a musical style unique to this Portuguese city, whose melodies have become very popular.
At this Fado show in Coimbra, you'll enjoy a unique and universal art form. The strumming of the guitars and the melancholic and deep tone of the songs will move you and make you feel the passion from the very first moment.
Each performance, which lasts approximately 50 minutes, features musicians from different generations who share a deep love for Fado and the music that is performed in Coimbra.
At the end of the show, we'll serve you a glass of Port wine—the perfect finishing touch to a unique performance!
You can book up to 1 hour in advance if there are any seats left. Book now and guarantee your spot.
